Prerequisites

Before you connect eBay Analytics to Connect AI, you must join the eBay Developers Program and create an application to obtain OAuth credentials.
1
If you have not already done so, join the eBay Developers Program.
2
On the eBay Developers Program dashboard, navigate to My Account > Application Access Keys.
3
On the Application Keys page, create an OAuth application and request credentials for either the Production or Sandbox environment, depending on whether you need access to real store data or a testing environment.
4
Copy down the values for App ID (Client ID) and Cert ID (Client Secret).
5
Next to your App ID, click User Tokens, then select Get a Token from eBay via Your Application. Make sure OAuth enabled is selected.
6
Configure a Redirect URL (RuName) for your application. Set the accepted URL to https://oauth.cdata.com/oauth/ and copy down the RuName value generated by eBay.

Setup Guide

Follow these steps to connect eBay Analytics to your Connect AI account:
1
Open the Sources page of the Connect AI navigation menu.
2
Click + Add Connection in the upper-right corner.
3
Type eBay Analytics into the search field, then click the data source name.
4
On the Basic Settings tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.
5
Enter the Ru Name, which is the Redirect URL name used for validation (obtained in the prerequisites).
6
(Optional) Select a Marketplace Id for the eBay Marketplace you want to connect to. Supported values are DEFAULT, EBAY_AU, EBAY_CA, EBAY_FR, EBAY_DE, EBAY_GB, EBAY_IT, EBAY_ES, and EBAY_US. The default value is DEFAULT.
7
Select an Auth Scheme and follow the relevant instructions below.

Authentication Methods

1
Enter the following information:
  • OAuth Client Id—the App ID you obtained from the Application Access Keys page.
  • OAuth Client Secret—the Cert ID you obtained from the Application Access Keys page.
2
Click Sign in to connect securely through OAuth. This action opens the eBay sign-in page in a new tab.
3
Log in to your eBay account and grant the requested permissions.
4
At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.
  • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
  • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.
  • Unsuccessful connections are saved as drafts and have a Status of Not Authenticated. You can return to the connection and authenticate it later.
